Badung, Eyewitness | As questions about missing investor funds mount, threats, alleged intimidation, and a mysterious person claiming to represent Adrian Campbell are deepening the controversy surrounding the Marina Bay City fiasco.

According to Jamie McIntyre, after local thugs claiming to represent Adrian Campbell visited the project he was developing in Bali several times in recent days, unrelated to the Marina Bay City project in Lombok or the development company, McIntyre also received a WhatsApp message from Adrian Campbell saying, “Don’t forget to smile. I’ll enjoy what happens next. Your charade has ended in disaster,” the message read.

Shortly thereafter, Mr. McIntyre received a series of WhatsApp messages sent using an account registered to the Australian phone number +61 417 095 696 under the name “Jay Dee,” but appearing to originate from Thailand, where Adrian Campbell now resides. The messages referred to alleged steps being taken to use “biker gang members” known as the “Black Shirts” to carry out acts of violence against Mr. McIntyre and included the following statement from the sender:
The message from Jay Dee stated, “The Black Shirts are coming for you. They’re a friendly bunch. Accountability is their top priority. I’m just letting you know. … It’s almost time. … Well, I just wanted to let you know there’s going to be a knock on the door. But I’m sure you can feel it coming…”.

Following that message, Mr. McIntyre also received another message from Jay Dee, previously posted by someone else in the Investor Update WhatsApp group apparently created by Adrian Campbell.

The post, which was forwarded to Mr. McIntyre, implicitly refers to Mr. McIntyre by the person who posted it and states: “I want to round up some local biker thugs, arrest him [Jamie McIntyre], take his passport, break both his arms, and give him a message not to mess with investors’ money.” The message also shows a comment from someone named “A” who said, “There are a lot of Australian biker gang members in Bali,” the post in the group reads.

Mr. McIntyre replied to Jay Dees’ message simply by saying: “Why not send the pink shorts, instead of the black shirts, especially the type who are ‘fake masculine’ and think it’s still high school and you can intimidate others into not being exposed for taking $5 million in investor funds,” adding, “Adrian’s strong legal footing doesn’t look very strong to me if he has to use thugs to knock on doors. Let me be clear. Nothing is going to stop the authorities in Australia from arresting Adrian for his fraud, and I’m helping them. … Is this high school? What a joke,” Mr. McIntyre replied.

According to Mr. McIntyre, this childish strategy of remote intimidation began after repeated formal requests from his legal team in Indonesia for Kinnara executives to provide bank statements and financial records relating to investor funds connected to the project.

The formal requests were reportedly sent to Adrian Campbell, Mr. Campbell’s lawyer in Jakarta, and Hilton Wood, Kinnara’s Chief Financial Officer.

Instead of receiving the legally requested documentary evidence, Adrian Campbell simply refused to provide the necessary documents. Mr. McIntyre, in fact, received the aforementioned threats and other ongoing interference from Adrian Campbell in the business affairs of Mr. McIntyre’s own company in Bali, all of which raise serious questions about the conduct of the parties involved.

Financial Transparency Dispute

As is known, this dispute stems from the controversial split between McIntyre and Campbell in the company established to develop the Marina Bay City project in Lombok, following unsubstantiated allegations by Adrian Campbell of misappropriation and/or embezzlement of investor funds solicited without lawful authority by Kinnara in Australia and paid on Kinnara’s instructions into an Australian bank account controlled by Kinnara. However, according to Mr. McIntyre, the majority of which was never transferred by Kinnara or Adrian Campbell to PT Marina Bay Investments, the company established as the project’s developer and which until recently was controlled by an Indonesian Director appointed at the General Meeting of Shareholders (GMS), not by Jamie McIntyre.

Through his legal team, Mr. McIntyre stated that millions of dollars in investor funds paid to Kinnara remain unaccounted for, and that repeated requests by Mr. McIntyre’s office for financial documentation from Adrian Campbell have been ignored.
