Marina Bay City, Lombok Issues Further Buyer Warnings: Only Official Purchases Through Lux Projects Bali or Marina Bay City

Marina Bay City, the multi-billion-dollar master-planned development reshaping South Lombok, has reiterated a strong warning to buyers and investors amid reports of unauthorized parties and misleading online promotions using the “Marina Bay” name.
Following its recent 100% acquisition by Lux Projects Bali, which completed the full buyout of the Kinnara real estate platform, the management of Marina Bay City confirmed that all official sales are now handled exclusively through Marina Bay City or Lux Projects Bali.
At this stage, no other developers, agencies, or individuals have been licensed or authorized to sell properties within the city. While the management plans to appoint approved developers in the future to accelerate the city’s growth, these partners will be formally listed on the official Marina Bay City website once approved.
Warning on “Bait and Switch” Tactics
Management has also cautioned against unverified real estate agents and developers allegedly using deceptive “bait-and-switch” methods — luring clients via Facebook pages or websites that include the Marina Bay name (such as “Marina Bay Lombok”) to divert buyers toward unrelated or inferior nearby projects.
“These misleading tactics are not only unethical but can lead to severe consequences for buyers,” a spokesperson said. “Only those who purchase directly from Marina Bay City or Lux Projects Bali will receive full ownership recognition within the city and guaranteed access to all amenities, infrastructure, and gated city services.”
Gated Access and Ownership Rights
As a gated and master-planned city, all entrances and internal roads within Marina Bay City are private and will be secured for verified residents, investors, and their guests.
Purchasers of unapproved or neighboring developments will not be granted access to Marina Bay City’s internal amenities, roads, or community infrastructure.
Official Payment Channels
To safeguard investors, Marina Bay City has also emphasized that all payments must be made directly to Marina Bay City or Lux Projects Bali.
At present, there are no authorized agents, brokers, or developers beyond these two official entities.
Exclusive Buyer Incentives
Marina Bay City said another major benefit of buying directly through Marina Bay City or Lux Projects Bali is that all buyers receive a US$15,000 deposit grant to use toward any property purchase.
In addition, anyone wishing to visit the city when the first villas and restaurant open in February 2026 can qualify for a US$500 accommodation credit.
